The following image might look like what you would expect to see via a Google Map captured from hundreds of miles up in space. We captured this image using drone technology flying at 200′ above ground level (AGL) even though it looks from a higher vantage point.
Maps like the ones shown can be one off or done on a recurring basis to show progress or changes over time. Images can be of a small property or structure or hundreds of acres. Map images are useful for showing people where things are located, planning, project management, marketing, promotion among many other uses. In addition to using imagery for maps like those shown, another use is to simply show a large subject as a single view without having use a helicopter, airplane or other expensive approach.
Using drone technology, these and other images can also be captured faster, without the cost, complexity and other issues associated with low flying helicopters or airplanes. Another advantage of maps or photos like those shown above is that they can be quickly captured, processed, delivered with timeframes measured in hours or few days vs. weeks or months.
